Although we're mostly landlocked in Colorado these days, every few months we travel to the Central Coast of California. It's amazing how much the landscape changes from season to season. Last time we were here it was spring, and the hills were SO GREEN from all the crazy rains. Now it's summer and everything is yellow-brown again, ready to catch fire if someone throws a cigarette butt out of a car window.

The ocean changes from spring to summer, too, but not as noticeably. Our favorite thing these days is sifting through the pebbles on Cambria's Moonstone Beach, looking for sea glass.
